Application Not Found Error with USB Flash Drive on windows 

Have you ever wanted to use your USB flash drive and you keep getting this error  “Application Not Found Error” with USB Drives in Windows.

This is a simple tutorial that will teach you how to remove Application Not Found Error on your USB Flash Disk.

You remove the flash disk and insert it back and get this error

again.

Below are the steps to solve this error.

SOLUTION TO:

“U:\ APPLICATION NOT FOUND” Error message when opening USB Drive in windows

Your USB Flash drive appears in windows explorer in the

Devices with Removable Storage section but cannot open.

When you click on it to open you get the error pop up
the message “Application not found”.

Something funny is if you right-click on it to open it works
and then you can access its content.

Apparently, another way is when you left-click on the icon under My Computer on the left panel… it opens and works.

So how do we go about this problem..?

       1.       On the Desktop shortcut or from the Start menu, right-click My Computer icon and click on “Manage”

       2.      This will open the “Computer Management Console”

       3.      Then Click on the “Disk Management” on the left panel.

       4.      On The disk management console, identify and select the USB drive

       5.      Right Click on it and select “Change drive letter and Paths”

      6.      Next, Click on the “Change” tab.

      7.      On the Change Drive Letter or Path pop-up, click the dropdown to assign the drive a new letter.

      8.     Windows will display a warning message, just click on Yes to continue.

      9.      Now close to exit the windows management console.
