How to hard reset or flash a smartphone

Wondering how to unlock your smartphone? Have you forgotten your password or screen lock combination? Forgot your Password or Pattern. Worry not this tutorial has got you covered. I will teach you how to hard reset your phone to restore manufacturers' settings.

        1.       Turn off your phone and/ or Remove your battery to turn off.

       2.      Put your battery back and hold the volume down and power button down together.

       3.      When the Safaricom logo is displayed release the Power button.

       4.      It will then display the factory reset Menu.

-         Reboot system now

-         Reboot to bootloader

-         Apply update from ADB

-         Apply update from SD card

-         Wipe data/ factory reset

-         Wipe cache partition

-         Mount /system

-         View recovery logs

-         Run graphics test

-         Power off.

       5.      Some will display the following menu

-         Board Auto Test

-         Phone Auto Test

-         Board Single Test Item

-         Phone Single Test Item

-         Proposed Items

-         Phone information

-         Board Test Report

-         Phone Test Report

-         Reboot.

-         Factory Reset

       6.      Scroll using the volume key to the Factory Reset option.

       7.      Select it by pressing once on the power button

       8.      It will display Safaricom and Android logo then blink and bring the two again.

       9.      After a few minutes, it will restart with the phone back to factory settings and without the lock pattern /password.

       10.   The process is done and you will start setting up your phone once again.
