The deadline for SIM re-registration which was 15
April has been extended for 6 months to October.
You can still update your SIM details instead of
waiting for the deadline rush hour, with the traffic being congested at the
last-minute rush.
The exercise has been ongoing for
some time, and as is customary in our culture, many Kenyans have been unable to
participate because deadlines are often extended.
The Communications Authority of
Kenya has begun the re-registration initiative, with the goal of weeding out
numbers that are no longer in use or that have been registered unlawfully.
Kenya and Airtel have already
launched online SIM re-registration portals, while Safaricom had yet to do so.
The good news is that Safaricom now
offers an online platform through which you may update your SIM Registration
Details. So, rather than going to a Safaricom store or agent to update your
information, you can do it from the comfort of your own home, for yourself and
anyone else.

information on how to update your Telkom or Airtel Kenya line.
